Arsenal secured a vital win over Nottingham Forest, with Gabriel Jesus inspiring his side to a victory on the road to temporarily move up to second place in the Premier League.
The Gunners were dominant, but could not convert their possession into goals until Gabriel Jesus found the back of the net in the second half.
The scorer then turned creator as he set up Bukayo Saka to net a second goal, and the Brazilian was awarded the player of the match award, having rescued goals and points after missing a golden chance early on in the second half.
Gabriel Jesus leads PL in attacking stat
His display at Nottingham Forest saw Jesus silence his critics somewhat, having been slammed for a lack of goals throughout the campaign.
However, Jesus notching up both a goal and assist has been a common theme this season, and he has now done this more than anyone else.
Statician Tom Ede has now revealed that Jesus has scored and assisted within the same game on four different occasions across all competitions this season, and no other Premier League player has managed this.
“No Premier League player has both scored and assisted a goal in more different games this season than Gabriel Jesus (4 times). He’s only played 90 minutes in 5 of his 23 appearances,” he posted on X.
Gabriel Jesus’ decisive performances for Arsenal

The four games where Jesus scored and assisted were all victories, against Sevilla and RC Lens in the Champions League, and Luton in the Premier League in addition to last night’s win.
The Luton game ended 4-3, with Jesus’ contributions helping give his side an early lead before a Luton fightback was cancelled out by a winner from Declan Rice.
His performance away at Sevilla was outstanding, as he produced both an outstanding assist for Gabriel Martinelli before scoring a stunner in a 2-1 victory.
The Lens game saw Arsenal ease to a 6-0 victory, with Jesus leading the line well, but last night’s was arguably his most decisive performance, as Arsenal were struggling to find the breakthrough before he peservered to power the ball beyond Matt Turner.
His ability to both score and assist highlights how remarkably complete he is as a footballer. Although he is not the most clinical forward, his overall presence helps create more goals in the team overall.
