The rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester City has become very heated in recent seasons.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been the biggest club in England over the last six years, and they have won the Premier League title more often than not.
Arsenal have pushed City all the way in each of the last two seasons, and the Sky Blues were recently humiliated by the Gunners in a game that ended 5-1.
One of the biggest battles on the pitch in games between Arsenal and Manchester City has been between Gabriel Magalhaes and Erling Haaland.
The Arsenal defender has had his say about the rivalry.
Gabriel Magalhaes says he will never stay quiet when he’s facing Erling Haaland
Haaland has become a villain of sorts to Arsenal fans in recent years.
The Norwegian is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world, and his talent and ability on the pitch are absolutely unquestionable.
However, Haaland telling Arteta to ‘stay humble’ and asking Myles Lewis-Skelly who he was were just unnecessary. That came back to haunt him during the 5-1 defeat.
Gabriel has now had his say on how he deals with the pressure of playing in big games and against big players.
The Arsenal defender revealed that if he’s coming up against someone like Haaland, who is a world-class player, he will never stay quiet – he will be up in his face and try to win every single duel.
Gabriel told Arsenal.com: “Yes it (big games) makes me comfortable, because I need to put myself in the best position and the best shape.
“I need to show up, to be present in those moments.
“If I’m playing against Haaland for example, I’m not going to be quiet because I know how good he is – no, I need to be there, put myself at an even higher level and try to win every duel.”

Gabriel vs Haaland battle could take place again this season
Arsenal are unbeaten against Manchester City in each of their last five games.
Guardiola’s men cannot get one over the Gunners domestically this season, but the two sides could cross paths in the Champions League.
If City get past Real Madrid and then win in the next round to make it into the quarter-final, there is a chance that they could be drawn against Arsenal.
In case the two sides get to the quarter-finals and draw different teams, there is a possibility that Arsenal and Manchester City will face each other in the Champions League final – provided that they get there.
What an incredible clash that would be!
