Kai Havertz achieved one feat for Arsenal against Brentford yesterday that he never managed in his time on the books at Chelsea.
Kai Havertz found himself on the scoresheet yet again as Arsenal beat Brentford 2-1.
The German nodded in a late winner to send the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table with this win at the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal fans in the stands erupted as Havertz connected with Ben White’s cross in the 86th minute.
The north London club had initially taken the lead in the first half, with White once again playing the part of provider, this time for Declan Rice. However, a mistake from Aaron Ramsdale on the stroke of half-time saw Arsenal surrender this advantage.
When Mikel Arteta’s side were desperate for a goal, though, Havertz was on hand to provide the telling touch, as he has been so often in recent weeks. As reported by Squawka, the 24-year-old has now scored in his last four consecutive Premier League outings for the Gunners, a consistent streak that he never was able to string together in his three seasons at Chelsea. These strikes have come in Arsenal wins against Burnley, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, and now Brentford.

How Kai Havertz has found new level at Arsenal
This prolific streak has come since Arteta shifted Havertz up front, in the absence of the injured Gabriel Jesus. Jesus is now back to fitness but Arteta has been encouraged to deploy him elsewhere on the pitch. The Gunners certainly seem to be clicking as a team with Havertz spearheading the attack, and there should be no rush to dismantle this winning formula.
The former Chelsea man also deserves plenty of credit for fighting his way into the form he is currently enjoying. Following his £65 million switch from Stamford Bridge in the recent summer transfer window, he looked short on confidence and needed time to find his feet in north London.
Havertz came in for a huge amount of criticism as he initially struggled to adapt to life at Arsenal. Arteta kept faith in the 42-cap Germany international though, and that trust is now being rewarded as the player looks full of belief and is finding the back of the net with regularity.
The Spanish coach will be desperate for the attacker to maintain his current form when Arsenal take on Porto in their crucial Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.
