Arsenal were dominant in their 2-0 victory over Brighton, as goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz secured all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Gunners were outstanding defensively and fired in plenty of shots, but found themselves frustrated as they failed to take their chances before Jesus headed in during the second half.
Whilst there were a number of standout performers, with captain Martin Odegaard particularly impressive, record-signing Declan Rice was phenomenal yet again as he delivered yet another commanding display.

The 24-year-old was a rock in the middle of the park, as he helped contribute to Arsenal’s remarkable defensive display, whilst also contributing going forward.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live’s coverage of the game, former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison praised Rice’s display, and highlighted how complete the midfielder is.
“Rice has been outstanding. He’s a big influence on this team,” he stated.
“He covers the ground, he drives forward and he intercepts. He does it all. I think he’s magnificent.”
How Declan Rice was crucial in Brighton victory
Rice made three interceptions and four recoveries, and Brighton could not find a way past him as they registered just one shot on target.
He also registered a 91% passing accuracy, whilst completing all of his attempted crosses and long balls, distributing the ball well from the middle of the park.
Rice also burst forward well on a number of occasions, setting up Bukayo Saka for one opportunity before shooting himself after a fine dribble late on.
Whilst he did not provide a goal or an assist, he was just as important to the victory as either of the goalscorers, as he helped Arsenal push forward well whilst remaining defensively solid.
Rice has been one of the best performers in the Premier League this season, and he will be paramount to any potential title challenge Arsenal make this season.
With Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny all absent from the squad against Brighton due to injury, Rice now is more irreplaceable than ever before as Arsenal prepare for a crucial trip to Liverpool next week.
Rice has been outstanding in most of his performances this season, both at the base of midfield, as well as in a more advanced role, and his defensive awareness and physicality have helped Arsenal form the best defence in the league, with the Gunners joint-top for clean sheets.
