Arsenal star Leandro Trossard has had an inconsistent campaign, but scored an excellent goal off the bench in Sunday’s victory over Liverpool.
The 29-year-old arrived from Brighton last January and was an instant hit, producing 10 assists in his first half-season with the club.
However, this season has not been easy for the Belgium International, who has found himself in and out of the team and often coming from the bench, whilst his performances have blown hot and cold.
Nevertheless, Trossard’s strike against Liverpool showed what he is truly capable of, and since his arrival, his output in front of goal has been remarkable, to the extent that he now leads the squad, and is third-place in Arsenal’s entire history in one key stat.
Trossard leads Arsenal squad for minutes per goal involvement
Trossard’s output in the Premier League for Arsenal has been excellent, with six goals and 11 assists in 39 games.
This stat becomes even more impressive when considering that 22 of his 39 appearances have been as substitutes, and his goal against Liverpool also meant Arsenal broke a Premier League record for goals scored and provided by substitutes.
He averages a goal or assist on average every 99 minutes of Premier League action, and this total is only bettered by strikers Robin van Persie and Thierry Henry in Arsenal’s history, as confirmed by BEIN Sports on X.
“Of players to have played a minimum of 1000 minutes… Only Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie have better minutes per goal involvement stats than Leandro Trossard in Arsenal’s Premier League history!”
Trossard’s Arsenal record vs Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie

Van Persie and Henry were two of the deadliest strikers in Arsenal’s history, and Trossard is keeping excellent company in the top three when it comes to his output.
Henry is one of the greatest players Arsenal have ever seen, and is arguably the best player in the history of the Premier League. The Frenchman produced 175 goals and 80 assists in 258 league games, with a contribution once every 83 minutes.
Van Persie, although a hated figure now, was also sensational in his time at Arsenal. In 194 Premier League games, he scored 96 and assisted 47 times, at a rate of a contribution every 93 minutes.
Although Trossard has a much smaller sample size when it comes to judging his output, it is a very good sign for Mikel Arteta that one of his backup attackers is producing at such a remarkable rate in his limited minutes.
