Arsenal star Mesut Ozil can scare the wits out of Premier League opponents, according to Gunners team-mate Mikel Arteta and give Emirates midfielder Arteta, currently side-lined through injury, has heralded the arrival of the German international from Real Madrid in a club record £42.5million deal.
And the former Everton ace believes Ozil gives the Gunners a better chance of snatching the top flight crown this season.
Arteta said: “It is the type of signing which makes me feel like Arsenal could challenge for the title. With players like him you will scare the opposition and when the opposition are scared of you have a better chance of winning the game.
“I’m delighted that we’ve got Mesut Ozil. He is the kind of player that can make a difference in any minute of a game. He’s someone who you want to play next to.
“For me he is a top draw player. I think after Cristiano Ronaldo he was the best player at Real Madrid. I think Arsenal fans are really going to enjoy him.”
Ozil has been unwell this week but has travelled with Arsene Wenger’s squad for the Premier League trip to Sunderland.
