Arsenal have had several key injuries this season.
Mikel Arteta hasn’t had a fully fit squad available at his disposal at any point during this campaign, and that has made things more difficult for the Gunners than they otherwise would have been.
Apart from David Raya, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri, every single Arsenal player has missed at least one game due to injury or illness this term.
That is a shocking record, but what’s even more concerning is that one of their players has been playing despite not fully recovering from an injury – William Saliba.

William Saliba says he has had a foot injury since Liverpool vs Arsenal in August
Saliba is one of Arsenal’s most important players.
The France international has been incredible since he made his debut on the opening day of the 2022/23 season, and he is among the reasons why the Gunners are so good.
Saliba has had a fine season whenever he has played, but he did suffer an injury very early in the game against Liverpool at Anfield all the way back in August.

The defender only missed one league game after that, but he was sidelined for three more in late November and early December.
Then, ahead of the game against Chelsea, Arteta claimed that Saliba was a doubt due to an injury, but he played the full 90 minutes at Stamford Bridge and was excellent.
After that game, the former Saint-Etienne man was asked about his issue, and he revealed that the same injury he picked up at Liverpool is still troubling him.
“It’s always on my foot, since the game against Liverpool at the beginning of the season,” he said, as relayed on HaytersTV.
Is William Saliba the best centre-back in the world?
William Saliba could soon get a break at Arsenal
Arsenal have had a lot of injuries in defence in recent months.
Apart from Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes was sidelined for a few weeks, while summer signings Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are currently out injured as well.
That is the reason why it has been so important for the Frenchman to play every game, but he could soon get a break.
That is because Mosquera is close to returning from his injury, and the young Spaniard can fill in at right centre-back once he is fully fit.
Arteta needs to be careful with Saliba’s fitness, as any long-term injury to him could ruin Arsenal’s Premier League and Champions League title hopes.
