William Saliba was an Arsenal fan growing up and would’ve watched Thierry Henry’s brilliance against Tottenham Hotspur.

The legendary Frenchman was a nightmare to play against for every club, but he had added motivation to do well against Spurs.

That is why he has an incredible record in North London Derbies, and Saliba is now following in his compatriot’s footsteps.

Thierry Henry loved playing for Arsenal against Tottenham.

The Frenchman understood very quickly what the North London Derby meant to the fans after joining the club in 1999, and he was always up for the game.

Henry has openly claimed that he doesn’t like Tottenham, and he can say whatever he wants about Spurs because of his incredible record against them.

In 11 appearances in all competitions against Tottenham, Henry won seven, drew four and lost none. He scored five goals and provided two assists in those games, and even won the Premier League title at White Hart Lane.

William Saliba has played six games against Spurs so far, and his record is incredible too. He has won five and drawn one game.

The Arsenal defender is now on track to do what Henry did – never lose a game against Tottenham in his entire career.

William Saliba has a different test in his next game against Tottenham

Saliba has been brilliant every time he has played against Tottenham over the last three years.

One of the reasons behind his performances is his partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes. Saliba has never faced Spurs without the Brazilian.

That is set to change on Sunday as Gabriel is expected to miss the game against Tottenham due to the adductor injury he suffered during the international break.

It is still unclear who will replace him. Ian Wright thinks it will be Cristhian Mosquera, but Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie are potential options as well.

Either way, it will be a different kind of test for Saliba as his good mate Gabriel, with whom he has formed such a good partnership, will not be next to him.
