Arsenal star William Saliba has a fantastic record against Chelsea.

The Gunners have been excellent against every big team in the Premier League in recent years, and the Frenchman is one of the biggest reasons why.

Saliba is arguably the best centre-back in the world right now, and it is extremely difficult for opposition attackers to get past him and score.

Winning every game is a joy for Saliba, but the Arsenal defender loves beating Chelsea for one key reason.

William Saliba says he has got his ‘revenge’ on Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez

Arsenal and Chelsea have always had a big rivalry.

It may not be as fierce as the Gunners’ games against Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United, but there have been some feisty encounters between the two sides.

Since William Saliba made his Arsenal debut in 2022, he has a brilliant record against Chelsea.

The defender has faced the Blues five times under Mikel Arteta, and he hasn’t lost a single game against them.

That is good on its own, but Saliba gets extra satisfaction by beating Chelsea because Enzo Fernandez plays for the Blues.

The midfielder was a part of the Argentina squad that beat France in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar. Saliba is still pained by that game, so he sees every positive result against Fernandez as ‘revenge’.

He told RMC Sport: “So far, I haven’t lost to Enzo Fernandez with Chelsea. So, yes, I took the revenge with them, Arsenal on Chelsea.

“When a team beats you, the only thing you expect is to play them again. And if we do things well and qualify, I think we will have a way to get our revenge (at the World Cup).”

Arsenal have dominated Chelsea in recent years

There was a period when Chelsea were the better side and inflicted some serious pain on Arsenal in all competitions.

That wasn’t a great time for Gooners, but normality has resumed in recent years. Mikel Arteta’s men have lost just one game against Chelsea since the turn of this decade.

The Blues are much better now and showed some positive signs when they beat Liverpool in the Premier League before the international break.

However, Arsenal will remain the favourites when they face the Blues, and we expect them to beat them again, just like Arteta did in the last meeting in March.
