Arsenal officially became Premier League champions while sitting at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.

Manchester City dropping points against Bournemouth confirmed the title race was over and sparked huge celebrations among Mikel Arteta’s players.

However, the Gunners would not even have been in that position if they had not beaten West Ham a few days earlier at the London Stadium.

That was a tense game, one Arsenal simply had to win to keep the pressure on City. The player who made the difference that day was Leandro Trossard.

Underappreciated Leandro Trossard hailed as a ‘global superstar’

Trossard may not always dominate headlines at Arsenal, but time and again, he has delivered in huge moments.

The Belgian has become one of the most reliable players in Arteta’s squad, especially when pressure is at its highest.

His winner against West Ham could genuinely go down as one of the defining moments of Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning season.

Jan Boskamp, who managed over 400 league games in Belgium, believes Trossard deserves far more appreciation than he currently gets in his home country.

Speaking recently, Boskamp said, as per Voetbal Nieuws: “That goal against West Ham might just have won them the title. He isn’t always fully appreciated in Belgium, but that lad is having a fantastic career.

“And to think that just ten years ago, he was sometimes still sitting on the bench at OH Leuven.

“If you can then help one of the biggest clubs on the planet become champions again after 20 years, well, then you are simply a global superstar.”

Leandro Trossard is one of Mikel Arteta’s most underrated signings

When Arsenal missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk and turned to Trossard, many supporters were underwhelmed.

However, looking back now, Arteta may have accidentally signed the perfect player for his squad.

Trossard has never really been guaranteed a starting place, but he has still produced massive moments in an Arsenal shirt over and over again.

If Leandro Trossard isn’t Arsenal’s most clutch player, who is? 🤔

Whether it has been important goals, assists, or simply changing games from the bench, the Belgian has consistently delivered when his team needed him most.

He did exactly that again against West Ham, and that contribution played a huge role in Arsenal becoming champions.

Considering he only cost around £27 million, Trossard genuinely has to go down as one of the most underrated signings of the Arteta era.
