Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth shoved several players under the spotlight, none more so than the two goal scorers.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice fired Arsenal towards the win, a victory that became even more crucial after Manchester City’s draw against Chelsea.

Arsenal now have a six-point lead in the Premier League title race, and while the Gunners have been in the situation before, this year feels different.

One of the reasons why Arsenal look so strong in the title race is because of the consistent quality Mikel Arteta’s players are producing, the most consistent being Rice.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer rave about Declan Rice

Arteta agreed that Rice is one of the world’s best after the 26-year-old scored a brace against Bournemouth to win Arsenal the game.

The spotlight hasn’t moved away from the England international since, earning applause that he deserves for all he does.

Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker were two pundits who commented on Rice after the victory, noting that the 2023 signing just keeps getting better.

“Declan Rice, I mean, he just goes from strength to strength, doesn’t he?” Lineker said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

“Another outstanding performance,” Shearer replied, before explaining what makes Rice ‘phenomenal’.

“I said it on Match of the Day, I think he’s a manager’s dream. He’s regularly 7 or 8 out of 10. He very rarely misses games, and what he does for the team is phenomenal; it’s fantastic. He’s an amazing player.”

Rice is one of the most reliable Arsenal players, both fitness and form-wise, making him one of the absolute best in the world right now.

Rice is consistently brilliant for Arsenal

If Arsenal are to win the Premier League title, a lot of it will be down to Rice.

There are few players as consistent as the midfielder in the world, as he so frequently showcases his best both going forward and while protecting the back four.

It’s no coincidence that Rice’s £105m price tag is rarely spoken about, as ever since his 2023 transfer from West Ham, he’s been a player worthy of the record fee.

With Rice in the side, Arteta will always have a reliable figure in his squad, which could just prove to be the difference in the title race.
