Arsenal take on Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League this week and Mikel Arteta appears to have been given a major fitness boost.

The Gunners boss watched a number of his players go down over the international break and was forced into big changes for the FA Cup defeat at Southampton.

However, ahead of taking on Sporting tomorrow, Arsenal look like getting some big players back by the looks of who is taking part in training.

Arsenal trio give fitness boost ahead of Sporting Lisbon

Arsenal fans have been waiting with bated breath to see who will be fit for this week and it appears at least three key players will be back.

Hosting an open training session for the media ahead of the clash with Sporting, Arsenal welcomed back Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and defender Gabriel Magalhaes to the set up.

That is big news for Mikel Arteta, with at least two of that three likely to be in the starting XI.

However, there was still some bad news for the Gunners as the likes of Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Eberechi Eze were all nowhere to be seen.

Furthermore, Piero Hincapie remains out and is likely to miss an extended period, meaning his season could be over.

Arsenal expecting more good news with Eberechi Eze

Although Eberechi Eze was not on display in today’s session, it does appear that Arsenal will get him back sooner rather than later.

A number of reports on social media have suggested Eze’s fitness will be confirmed as being fine for the clash with Bournemouth this coming weekend.

That more or less puts Arsenal back at full strength and if Bukayo Saka can also make his way back, Arsenal will be confident of getting back to winning ways.

This week’s clash in Europe feels even bigger than ever following the last two results.

Anything but a win will increase the pressure on the players and Arteta and the boss knows he has to get his team going.
