Arsenal want £20m for title-winning attacker as Everton make him a top target

Arsenal will allow a number of players to depart this summer and one of those is Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus has played a key role in the Mikel Arteta era but in the last 12-18 months, he has dropped down the pecking order.

Viktor Gyokeres’ arrival and then good form has only made things harder for him and Arsenal could be willing to let Jesus go this summer, if the price is right.

However, according to The Sun – who quote Football Insider – Arsenal’s current asking price is too much for some.

Everton unwilling to pay £20m for Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus was one of Mikel Arteta’s first big signings when he arrived from Man City and with the title win now wrapped up, his legacy at The Emirates is secure.

However, it’s probably time to move on and Everton are keen on taking him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

But while the Toffees are big fans of Jesus, reports from Football Insider suggest that the £20m asking price Arsenal have put on the striker has put them off.

The Gunners paid around £45m to bring Jesus in from Man City in the first place and given he is under contract, Arsenal will want some money to let him go.

Andrea Berta is keen to extract as much as he can from clubs who do like any Gunners players.

Everton, then, will likely have to pay up if they really are serious about signing Jesus.

The time is right for Gabriel Jesus to move on

There comes a time when every player needs to move on for both themselves and the club and it feels like that time has come for Gabriel Jesus.

Ultimately, he doesn’t score enough goals to be considered as a striker who can offer that support for both Gyokeres and Havertz at the top of the pitch.

Still, he has plenty left in the tank to contribute at Premier League level and Everton would actually be a good fit for the striker.

Arsenal have simply reached a level that Jesus seems to have fallen behind on a bit.

But with so much progress at the club since he signed, Jesus will be given a good send-off if he does leave and much like Oleksandr Zinchenko when he left, he’ll be wished well by all involved with Arsenal.
