The Arsenal Women’s team were crowned as the champions of Europe earlier this year.

Renee Slegers’ side beat Barcelona in the final of the Women’s Champions League thanks to a solitary goal from Stina Blackstenius, who also won the Player of the Match award.

Chloe Kelly, who made her return to Arsenal this year, first on loan and then on a permanent deal, started the final and played over an hour.

She helped the Gunners win their second European title and has now aimed a dig at Tottenham.

Is there anything at all about Tottenham that’s better than Arsenal?

Arsenal star Chloe Kelly mocks Tottenham

Arsenal are bigger than Tottenham – both in the men’s and women’s teams.

Mikel Arteta’s side have finished above Spurs in each of the last four seasons, and that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon.

In the Women’s Super League, Tottenham have never finished above Arsenal in history, which shows the dominance of the red side of North London.

After Kelly and her teammates won the Women’s Champions League in the summer, Arsenal welcomed fans to celebrate with them outside the Emirates, and a capacity crowd of 10,000 emerged.

During an interview with Sky Sports, while describing the event, the interviewer said: “North London became red.”

Kelly was having none of that. She interrupted him immediately and said: “Became or has always been?”

Chloe Kelly is right – North London has always been red

Arsenal are better than Tottenham in every way imaginable.

The Gunners have historically had more success than Spurs, and they are presently far superior as well. Arsenal’s fan base is also bigger – in England and across the globe.

When Tottenham won the Europa League earlier this year, 150,000 people turned up for their trophy parade, which is impressive.

However, that’s no match for Arsenal – not just now but two decades before either.

When Arsene Wenger’s side won the Premier League in 2004, over 250,000 people came out for the trophy parade (Guardian). It was a similar number when they won the FA Cup in 2014 as well.

Kelly is spot on – North London didn’t become red, it always has been!
