Max Dowman has been one of Arsenal’s biggest success stories this season.

The youngster, still only 15, is already a part of the Gunners’ first team and has played five senior games in all competitions so far.

Dowman became the youngest player to feature in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, and is on track to break many more records.

Now, he is being considered to make history in the England setup.

Arsenal’s Max Dowman is set to break Jude Bellingham’s England U21s record

Max Dowman is destined to be a superstar for Arsenal and England.

A 15-year-old getting opportunities with the first team at a club as big as Arsenal is unheard of, and his progression has not gone unnoticed at national level either.

England U21s boss Lee Carsley is well aware of Dowman’s development, having watched him play for the Gunners as well as the Young Lions.

The teenager has played six times for the England U19s as well, and Carsley has now confirmed that he will get opportunities at the U21 level soon.

He said, as per The Daily Mail: “He’s a player that we’re monitoring. Sometimes, that talent, we have to accelerate it so quickly because of the challenge they are getting at their clubs.

“It’s important that we keep in mind how young Max is, and we are fully aware of him. We get all of the feedback from the camps that he plays on, and there is definitely time.

“He’ll definitely get his chance within the Under-21s.”

If Dowman makes his England U21s debut at any point before the end of February 2027, he will become the youngest player in the nation’s history to do so, breaking Jude Bellingham’s record.

Max Dowman could become England’s youngest-ever player too

The next step for Dowman at national level is to play for the England U21s, and Carsley has all but confirmed that it will happen.

If the Arsenal youngster performs brilliantly there, there is a chance that the England senior national side will call him up as well.

That is unlikely to happen before the World Cup, but if Dowman gets to make his Three Lions debut at any point in the next 15 months, he will become his country’s youngest-ever player.

That record is currently held by Arsenal hero Theo Walcott, who made his England debut as a 17-year-old all the way back in 2006.
