Mikel Merino is unbeaten against Manchester City as an Arsenal player.
The Spain international joined the Gunners in the summer of 2024, and he helped the Gunners smash Pep Guardiola’s men 5-1 last season.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Merino is fit and will be available for selection when Manchester City come to the Emirates on Sunday.
The midfielder has now delivered his verdict on the Sky Blues.

Arsenal star Mikel Merino rubbishes ‘dramatic’ claim about Manchester City
Manchester City have been the most dominant club in English football over the last decade, but they have had a difficult year.
Guardiola’s side looked nothing like their usual selves last season and failed to win any silverware. They have had a tricky start this season as well.
City have lost two of their first four games in the Premier League this season, and that has led to many people saying that they are already out of the title race.
Mikel Merino has branded those comments as ‘dramatic’ and claimed that the Sky Blues will definitely be in the race to lift the title this term.
He told HaytersTV: “I think everyone’s gone a bit dramatic and said they’ve lost two games and they’re now not in the title race.
“But there’s still a long way to go. This is the toughest league in the world, so it’s going to be hard for anyone to keep winning every single game.
“It’s just the beginning. It’s going to be a long league and City will be in the race for sure.”

Arsenal have the chance to dent Manchester City’s title hopes
Merino is right, it would be silly to rule Manchester City out of the title race this early in the season.
Guardiola’s men are more than capable of turning things around, but Arsenal can definitely dent their hopes on Sunday.
The Gunners are three points above City ahead of the game. A win will increase that gap to six, which is significant, especially as Liverpool would then be nine points above them.
The title race will still not be over for the Sky Blues if they lose at the Emirates, but things will become a lot harder for them.
