Catch all the latest Arsenal news, including updates on Ethan Nwaneri, Raheem Sterling and Martin Zubimendi.

Arsenal returned to Premier League action over the weekend, landing all three points with an important win over Leicester City.

A brace from Mikel Merino proved to be the difference as the midfielder stepped into a more unorthodox striker role to help score the all-important goals.

After that, Mikel Arteta has a full week to prepare his side for the upcoming test of West Ham United in a London Derby.

So with that said, here’s a look at the biggest Arsenal news ahead of another busy week of action.

Arsene Wenger praises Ethan Nwaneri impact at Arsenal

The Hale End academy has worked wonders yet again as Ethan Nwaneri continues to step up to the biggest stage for Arsenal when it matters.

The 17-year-old was a standout performer for the Gunners in their win over Leicester, providing an assist and going close with a few other chances.

Following the victory, former manager Arsene Wenger was full of praise for Nwaneri in an interview with beIN Sports, when asked about how he compares to Cesc Fabregas at a similar age.

He said: “Nwaneri is more of a creator of a final ball through his dribbling and the quality of his passing.

“Of course [he’s mentally similar to Fabregas], Fabregas was very strong mentally, but this boy looks it as well.

“When I look at him and his maturity, it’s difficult for me to think he’s 17 years old. The sign of a special talent is that they’re ready early.”

Fabrizio Romano gives update on Raheem Sterling to Arsenal transfer

Raheem Sterling made a loan switch to Arsenal late last summer from rivals Chelsea in a deal for the entire season.

The winger was brought in to bolster the quality and depth of the squad available to Mikel Arteta, though he has struggled so far.

With the end of the season just a few months away, Sterling is running out of time to make an impression to seal a permanent switch.

On the possibility of a deal in the summer, Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport that a decision is yet to be made on the England international.

There is no buy clause inserted into Sterling’s loan deal from Chelsea, though the Blues would be open to a departure.

Arsenal given Martin Zubimendi transfer green light

Arsenal have been chasing up a transfer for Martin Zubimendi, with the Real Sociedad midfielder a top target for the summer.

Recent reports have linked Real Madrid with a potential hijack though, putting some pressure on the Gunners to get a deal done.

Despite that interest from Los Blancos, Arsenal Insider sources understand that Arsenal have been given the green light from Zubimendi’s representatives to pursue a move.

The North London outfit are looking to close an agreement as soon as possible to ward off any potential interest elsewhere.
