Mikel Arteta has shared how active Arsenal will be in the transfer market this summer, with the Gunners expected to be busy.
Business has been slow of sorts for the Gunners since the window opened last month, with all big clubs focused on this summer’s Euros and Copa America before deciding to open their cheque books for new signings.
With Riccardo Calafiori likely to be Arsenal’s first signing of the window, it appears that the Gunners will soon kick off their summer of spending, with an attacker and a midfielder also likely to be brought in by the north London side this summer.
And Arteta has now shared how busy Arsenal will actually be this window.

Arteta predicts Arsenal to be busy with signings and sales
Speaking to ESPN, the Arsenal manager revealed that he is expecting Arsenal to be busy in regards to both making new signings and selling players, with a number of figures expected to depart this summer.
With some Arsenal players already in pre-season training with Arteta in Marbella, there’s a good chance that things could start heating up for the Gunners, with the Basque coach likely to want most of the business done this summer completed before the first-team squad jet out to America.

Arteta said when asked what he expects from the transfer window this summer: “I think both ways [players coming in and going out of the club]. There are things that we have to improve, that’s for sure and we are going to try to.
“But the market is tricky. We have been very aggressive, we are very determined and we have a clear idea obviously of what we want to do. It will come down to finding the right agreements at the right time.”

Arsenal look ready to burst into life in the market at last this week
It’s been a very quiet so far for Arsenal fans in regards to transfers, with the Gunners yet to pull off a major signing whilst also not selling a big-name player despite some interesting rumours in recent weeks.
However, that now looks set to change this week following news of Calafiori’s impending move to north London coupled with Arteta publically coming out and saying that business will be done this summer.
With pre-season proper starting in just three weeks, Arsenal could be about to burst into life in the transfer market, and there’s a good chance that a number of moves could be made before the squad yet out to America at the end of July.
