Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League tonight and here’s our predicted XI.
The Gunners have had a game in hand over Manchester City for a while now, and tonight’s the night. A win against the Toffees will push us five points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side at the top of the table, which would be an incredible achievement.
Mikel Arteta has a couple of difficult decisions to make with his team selection tonight. Here’s what we think he’ll do.
Predicted Arsenal XI vs Everton
Arsenal boss Arteta made one change in the game against Leicester City last weekend.
Leandro Trossard started up front in place of Eddie Nketiah, who was carrying a minor knock. Thomas Partey made his return and came on as a substitute late in the game.
Those are the two big calls the Arsenal boss will have to make against Everton tonight, but the rest of the side is fairly straightforward to predict.
Aaron Ramsdale will start in goal with a back four of Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Granit Xhaka is expected to keep his place in the side in the middle of the park, and we have a feeling Arteta will stick with Jorginho in the number six position – even though Partey is available now.
In front of the two midfielders, we expect to see a trio of Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. If the three of them have a good game, we should be able to pick up all three points quite comfortably.
Up top, we think Arteta will continue with Trossard. The Belgian had an excellent game against the Foxes last weekend and his ability to constantly interchange positions with the two wingers makes us a lot more unpredictable.
