Pundit Ashley Williams drew attention to one Arsenal player’s impact during the win over Nottingham Forest.
It was a delightful outing for the majority of the Arsenal squad at the Emirates, as the Gunners beat Forest 3-0.
A brace from Martin Zubimendi and a Viktor Gyokeres goal earned the headlines; however, it was those who didn’t score who truly decided the game.
Mikel Arteta will be delighted with how his wingers played, as Noni Madueke wreaked havoc on the right, and on the left, Eberechi Eze made the difference against Forest.

Ashley Williams praises Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres’ connection
It was a home debut to remember for Eze, who recorded an assist on his first start for Arsenal since making the £67m move from Crystal Palace.
The summer signing started on the left side to replace Gabriel Martinelli, and throughout the contest, the magnitude of the upgrade became clear.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Ashley Williams drew attention to how Eze is already impacting Gyokeres, lauding the playmaker’s approach in the final third.
“Eze, what I like about him is that he can go inside or outside, so as a fullback, you’re pretty stuck,” Williams said.
“Here he’s getting to the byline as well, getting it in for Gyokeres, who is looking for it. It must be a dream for a striker to play with him.”
The former Premier League defender saw Eze as a player who made the difference for Gyokeres, but he wasn’t the only one to please the Swedish forward.
Williams also commented on Madueke’s threat on the right side, noticing how Arsenal’s front line is already gelling very well.
“The link-up play between the three of them, already they’re finding that bit of chemistry, you can see they enjoy playing with each other.”
Gyokeres can thrive with Arsenal’s wide players
It will indeed be a dream come true for Gyokeres, who had been isolated at times in Arsenal’s opening matches.
Against Forest, the two wingers ensured that didn’t happen, with the striker getting his goal from a perfect Eze cross from the left side.
The majority of Gyokeres’ actions in the game came from his link-up with Eze and Madueke, who truly put on a show for Arsenal fans.
It was a sight to behold, as the Gunners had become a bit of a one-dimensional side on the flanks, something that has been abolished since the two new signings came in.
Gyokeres will already be thinking of the next game, with Arteta reaping the rewards of purchasing the two England internationals in the summer.
