Arsenal have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals, in what promises to be a fascinating tie.
The German Champions will provide a stern test for Mikel Arteta’s side, and Arsenal fans will be keen on revenge after being humiliated by Bayern in the 2017 knockouts.
Whilst Bayern’s team has mostly changed since Arsenal last faced them, there are several players from the last clash who are still at the club, including Germany star Thomas Muller.
Muller has now spoken about the draw, and has also sent a message to Arsenal star Kai Havertz, whom he plays with at International level.
Thomas Muller speaks about Champions League tie between Arsenal and Bayern Munich
In a video posted on X, Muller claimed that the tie will see two top teams come together, and he also sent a defiant message to Havertz.
“And it’s Arsenal. Kai Havertz, my friend, I am waiting for you,” he stated.
“It’s a nice draw, two very good teams, two very good stadiums, two very good cities, yeah it will be tough but I’m always positive. See you Gunners.”
Thomas Muller’s Champions League record against Arsenal

Muller was a figure who would often terrorise Arsene Wenger’s sides in the Champions League, and even at the age of 34, he is someone who Arsenal will have to be wary of.
In seven games against Arsenal, Muller recorded four wins, drew once and lost twice. In these seven games, he scored five times and provided one assist.
His best performance came in the round of 16 in 2013, with Arsenal hosting Bayern at the Emirates in the first leg. Muller provided a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win which proved vital to qualification, with the away goal rule meaning that his impact in the away leg sent Bayern through despite losing 2-0 at home in the return tie.
Havertz meanwhile, has won just once in seven games against Bayern Munich, with his only goal against them coming in a DFB Pokal defeat with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Arsenal summer signing is now coming into his own at the club after a tough start, and may even be compared to Muller in terms of playing style, with the veteran also a midfielder capable of playing upfront due to his height.
Arsenal will hope that Muller cannot add to his tally against them, whilst Havertz will hope to make an impact against the German Champions.
