From Rodri questioning the Gunners’ mentality to Erling Haaland telling Mikel Arteta to stay humble, lines have been crossed.
Arsenal, for their part, haven’t really said much against City. Myles Lewis-Skelly copying Haaland’s celebration is as far as they have gone.
Yet, Pep Guardiola’s players just won’t stop, and Silva is the latest to fire some shots at the current Premier League leaders.
He said to Brazilian journalist Fred Caldeira on X: “It’s difficult to say, because my past experiences show that Liverpool have won the league twice since I arrived in England, and we won seven. I have never experienced Arsenal winning the league.
“The truth is that at this moment they are in a better position than us. Unfortunately, we started the year in a very negative way, at a moment when we could have built an emotional advantage, but we didn’t manage to do it.
“At the same time, they also had a chance to pull away more, and they didn’t manage it, which gave us a bit of hope. There are still many games to play.
“Every season is different, but we have all the hope and all the ambition to fight for this Premier League, without a doubt.”

The gap between Arsenal and Manchester City is down to just four points after the Gunners’ defeat to Manchester United.
Arteta’s men remain more likely to win the Premier League title, but anything can happen because the two sides still have to play each other at the Etihad Stadium.
We are sure that players like Silva and perhaps even Guardiola will say a few things in the media to put the pressure on Arsenal’s first team, but they should pay no heed.
The Gunners completely deserve to be where they are in the league table, and if they continue to do what they have done, they will go all the way and lift the title in May.
