Bryan Mbeumo has called Arsenal’s ability from dead-ball situations ‘special’.
Mbeumo was an Arsenal target over the summer, but the Cameroon international opted to sign for Manchester United instead.
The winger has been a thorn in Arsenal’s side this season, scoring at the Emirates as United beat the Gunners 3-2.
Speaking on Zack en Roue Libre, the attacker has been discussing what it’s like to play against Arsenal and their incredible set-play routines.
Mbeumo says that United specifically trained how to defend Arsenal’s corners in the lead up to their recent game, while he noted that he thinks Arsenal’s corners are something ‘special’ and ‘dangerous’.

Bryan Mbeumo hails Arsenal’s corner ability
Mbeumo spoke about Arsenal and their ability from corners.
The United star spoke about how dangerous Arsenal are from these situations – something that has been a running theme in this Premier League season.
“We obviously know Arsenal, but there are a lot of teams who now put a huge emphasis on set pieces because we know that these are offensive weapons that are now formidable in football,” Mbeumo said.
“How do you prepare when you’re going to play Arsenal and you know they have 36 guys in front of the goalkeeper, it’s chaos and all that. How do you feel in that situation?” Mbeumo was asked.
“Well, you try to replicate what they do actually,” Mbeumo said.
“You try to put a lot of guys on the goalkeepers, a lot of guys often at the far post, they like to send the ball over there. And you try to work on that in training, so you have players who put the ball there and we try to defend, of course.
“But it’s still special, you know, they are very, very dangerous on these kinds of set pieces, especially corners. So yeah, we do an extra focus for one or two days of training.”
Bryan Mbeumo’s record vs Arsenal
Mbeumo knows only too well how dangerous Arsenal can be from set plays, as, overall, he doesn’t have a great record against the Gunners in his career.
Yes, Mbeumo won on his last trip to the Emirates, but that was only the second time Mbeumo has been on the winning side against Arsenal.
