The celebrations at London Colney went long into the night, but Bukayo Saka still found time to make sure one familiar face was not left out.
As Arsenal’s players gathered at their training ground to mark their first Premier League title in 22 years, Saka and Jurrien Timber got on FaceTime to call Jorginho.
The Italian midfielder was a popular figure in the dressing room, and left the club on a free transfer last summer after two and a half years at the Emirates.
Jorginho shared it on his Instagram story, posting a still of the FaceTime call first with Gabriel Jesus, and then with Saka and Timber, beaming smiles all round.
🏆 Which Arsenal player is most deserving of this Premier League trophy?
Now playing for Brazilian side Flamengo after joining last summer, the former Chelsea and Arsenal man was clearly delighted to be remembered in the moment.
Jorginho made 79 appearances for Arsenal after joining from Chelsea for £12m in January 2023.
He was part of the group that pushed Arsenal to within touching distance of the title in previous seasons, only to fall short — as was Granit Xhaka, who sent his own congratulations to his former club.
Arsenal’s title celebrations spill into the early hours
The squad watched City’s draw at Bournemouth together at London Colney before the celebrations got properly underway.
And for some, the night didn’t end there.
Saka, Timber, Declan Rice, and Eberechi Eze were spotted at the Emirates in the early hours of Wednesday morning, celebrating with the few fans who were still outside the ground.
After 22 years of waiting, nobody could begrudge them that.
