Bukayo Saka named as one of Arsenal target’s favourite players for one unique reason

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is now a player recognised and rated across the globe, and many players have expressed their admiration for him in the past.

As Arsenal’s talisman, having progressed through the Academy to become a first-team star, as well as a key player for England, Saka has become one of Mikel Arteta’s highest-profile players.

He is now gaining recognition from players across Europe, as well as his teammates, for his exceptional performances on the pitch and mentality off it, and AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori is now his latest teammate to heap praise on the 22-year-old.

Fikayo Tomori claims Bukayo Saka is one of his favourite England players

The former Chelsea defender has now told England Football media that Saka is one of his favourite players within the current England squad, and highlighted his off-pitch relations with the winger as a key reason.

“I tried to avoid picking those in the current squad but if I had to mention some of the players, then Bukayo Saka would be one,” he stated.

“We both have Nigerian heritage and I don’t think many people know this but our names mean the same thing in Nigerian but are just spelled differently.

“Every time his dad and my dad meet up at games they always talk.”

Arsenal previously targeted Fikayo Tomori

It was reported by Football Transfers at the start of the January transfer window that Tomori, who has made 129 appearances for AC Milan, that Arsenal were interested in signing the 26-year-old.

The centre-back could add extra depth to Arsenal’s backline, and it was also reported that his family are supporters of the club.

However, Arsenal are well stocked in the centre of defence, but could benefit from more depth on the flanks, and given his potential price, a move seems unlikely for now.

Tomori’s admiration for Saka could put Arsenal in good stead should they end up eventually pursuing the England International, and he has shown a lot of quality in Serie A with Milan.

The defender was promising at Chelsea, but was loaned and eventually sold to Milan in 2021, with whom he won a historic Serie A title.

Tomori was actually born in Canada, but is also an English citizen, and came through the youth academy at Chelsea before he left for Italy.

He will now be coming into his prime years, but Arsenal are unlikely to need him any time soon given how well William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are performing in defence.
