Bukayo Saka has previewed Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City, with the two Premier League heavyweights set to go head-to-head.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka believes that his side can beat Manchester City ahead of their Premier League title clash in late March. The Gunners make the trip to the Etihad Stadium, sitting top of the league at the moment.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have been on an unstoppable run of form in 2024, dismantling teams left and right. The latest victory was slightly more tense though as FC Porto held out in a Champions League tie to force a penalty shootout.

Arsenal won the spot kicks on the night, thanks to heroics from goalkeeper David Raya, earning a place in the quarter-finals. Fortunately for an exhausted team, they now have a lengthy gap between now and their next game.

Bukayo Saka’s Man City verdict

Due to a rearranged fixture with Chelsea, because of FA Cup action, and an international break, Arsenal won’t feature again until 31 March. They make the trip to Manchester City knowing it could be a deciding game for the Premier League title.

Just one point separates the Gunners in first and City in third, outlining just how tight and tense the race for the top is. In the end, the head-to-head clashes may eventually crown the winner of the league, with Arteta already besting both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp once this campaign.

It’s those results and league positions that are fuelling the Arsenal charge, with belief they can be amongst the big teams. Saka discussed the clash with City when talking to TNT Sports, where he claimed: “Right now, yeah we can [beat Manchester City at their own ground].

“Obviously right now, we’re top of the league and we’re into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and we’re going into the international break. So that gives us a lot of momentum, a lot of belief that we can go to the Etihad and get a good result.”

A title race for the ages

With the title race as tight as it is at the top of the league, it feels as though it could be a memorable end of the season. A resurgent Liverpool, a tried and tested Manchester City and an up and coming Arsenal side make up the challengers.

It’s set up to be a thrilling final few weeks, but it’ll be the Gunners that want it to be remembered as the end of their rise and the start of their dominance.
