Bukayo Saka has already racked up a number of extraordinary achievements in his short career so far.
The Arsenal winger is a talismanic figure at the Emirates Stadium, and a fixture in Mikel Arteta’s regular starting XI.
Just what Bukayo Saka means to Arsenal and the club’s fanbase is hard to define. As a graduate of the Hale End academy, having been on the Gunners’ books since the age of seven, he has a deep personal connection with the North London outfit.
On top of that, the 23-year-old emerged into the first team at a time when the club were struggling. His impact brought some much-needed positivity to Arsenal, and he has played a huge role in the team’s recent rise.
Arsenal fans have insisted that keeping Saka is more important to them than the club winning a Premier League title in the past, which underlines the scale of the affection that the Emirates Stadium faithful harbour for the England international.

Bukayo Saka could break Arsenal record vs Bournemouth
Saka has broken Arsenal records in the past, and could be about to write his name in the history books again.
Arteta’s side will travel to take on Bournemouth in a Premier League clash this weekend. If Saka is deemed fit to play, following the injury concern he picked up whilst on international duty, then he will surely feature to some extent against the Cherries.
If Saka scores against the south coast club, then he will become the youngest Arsenal player to score 50 Premier League goals for the club.
As things stand, he has netted 49 times in 177 top flight outings for the Gunners. In total, across all competitions, Saka has scored 61 goals in 236 appearances for Arsenal. He has also laid on 60 assists in that time.
Should Mikel Arteta rest Saka against Bournemouth?
Whilst Saka is just one goal away from recording such a remarkable feat, and he may well be fit to face Bournemouth, Arteta must still seriously consider giving the England star the day off on Saturday.
Arsenal face a gruelling schedule this season, and will be expected to complete seriously across all fronts. They will need Saka to remain fit and firing throughout the campaign, and that means that unnecessary risks with his physical condition must be avoided.
In the likes of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, Arteta has alternative options available to him. Now is the time for the Spanish coach to show faith in his squad.
