Bukayo Saka went down with an injury against Leeds United on Saturday ahead of Arsenal’s huge game against Liverpool this weekend.
Saka had injury issues last year, and, as you can imagine, this latest problem sparked worry amongst the fanbase.
Saka’s injury is thought to be minor, and he could be set for four weeks out according to the initial prognosis.
However, according to Charles Watts, speaking to Sports Mole, this prognosis is only initial.
Indeed, the journalist says that Saka’s injury is still properly being assessed and the diagnosis on the severity of this injury could change.

Bukayo Saka injury timeline could change
Watts shared what he knows about Saka’s injury.
According to the journalist, Arsenal are relieved after seeing the initial scan results, but things could change.
Indeed, Watts says that the initial diagnosis isn’t concrete and Saka’s return date could end up being different.
“There is real relief around Arsenal over the injury and around Saka as well, those close to Saka,” Watts said.
“When it first happened there was a genuine fear that it could be a long layoff. This is best case scenario in terms of the initial scans.
“It must be noted as well, certainly from my understanding of the situation is that they are still assessing it.
“The initial prognosis after looking at the scan is that it’s not too bad, but it is relatively early and things could change, but there is a sense of relief at Arsenal.”
Bukayo Saka’s injury history
Bukayo Saka has been quite a durable player throughout his career.
Indeed, despite fears about Saka’s style of play at times, he hasn’t suffered many injuries in his career.
Concerningly, the worst injury Saka has ever had has been a hamstring injury last season.
| Injury | Season | Games missed |
| Hamstring injury | 2024/25 | 19 |
| Thigh injury | 2024/25 | 3 |
| Muscle injury | 2023/24 | 1 |
| Thigh injury | 2023/24 | 5 |
| Hip problem | 2020/21 | 1 |
| Hamstring injury | 2020/21 | 1 |
Players who use their speed and are very explosive are susceptible to hamstring problems, and we can only hope that Saka’s latest issue isn’t another example of a top player succumbing to these sorts of issues.
Fingers crossed Saka can stay fit and healthy for the remainder of the season once he returns from this problem.
