Arsenal have today confirmed that winger Charles Sagoe Jr has joined Championship side Swansea City on loan until the end of the season.

He will link up with Hale End teammate Charlie Patino, who has featured regularly for the Swans since moving on loan in the summer.

Sagoe Jr made a surprise debut for Arsenal earlier this season as he was included in the starting XI for his side’s victory over Brentford in the Carabao Cup.

The 19-year-old is a bright prospect, and he will now gain senior experience at the Welsh side, whilst playing with a familiar face in Patino.

The teenager has now taken to Instagram to express his delight that his deadline day loan move has been completed.

“Thank you God. I am Delighted to join Swansea on loan for the rest of the season. Can’t wait to get started!” He posted.

Patino has now replied, sharing his delight that his former teammate will link up with him again, with the caption “welcome bro.”

Sagoe Jr was quiet overall in his debut, but did show glimpses of quality in a game where he was not expected to have a major impact, but it is clear that he is now ready to make the step-up to senior-level football.

It is unclear how highly Arsenal rate Sagoe Jr, particularly when Amario Cozier-Duberry is also a top prospect on the right wing, but should he perform well for Swansea, then he will set himself up well for another potential loan next season.

The young winger has 16 appearances for the academy sides this season, scoring three times and notching up 10 assists, and he will hope to translate his creative output to Championship level alongside Patino, who has scored four and assisted four in 24 appearances this season.
