Arsenal winger Chloe Kelly was the match-winner for England once again in a European Championship final, scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout against Spain on Sunday.
Kelly netted the winner at Wembley three years ago for the Lionesses against Germany, and followed that up with another historic moment in Switzerland.
After an enthralling 120 minutes against the World Champions at St. Jakob-Park, England secured back-to-back Euros successes when the Gunners star emphatically converted her spot-kick.
Kelly also won the Champions League with Arsenal in May, and could now be in line for a prestigious award.

Developing through Arsenal’s academy, Kelly went on to enjoy a fruitful career elsewhere before making her return to N5.
After successful spells at Everton and Manchester City, she made her way back to Arsenal last summer, joining on an initial loan deal from the Citizens.
Enjoying a relatively productive 2024/25 season in a red and white shirt, Arsenal opted to secure Kelly on a permanent basis, following her important contributions to the Gunners’ Champions League exploits.
The move to Arsenal has seemingly spurred the forward on, lighting up the Euros with two noteworthy moments.
Netting a 119th-minute winner against Italy in the semi-final of the competition, Kelly then went on to score the penalty that secured England’s second consecutive Euros triumph.
She could now be rewarded for these two vital contributions, with many placing her as one of the favourites to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
While she will face competition from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jack Draper, Luke Littler and England teammate Hannah Hampton, she certainly stands in good stead to win the award due to the sheer dramatic nature of her two goals.
Beth Mead is the only Arsenal player to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award
The BBC Sports Personality of the Year award is voted for by the public and is meant to determine which British sportsperson has achieved the most in the given year.
Beth Mead is currently the only Arsenal player to have ever won the award, crowned the winner in 2022.
This was after the winger had played a key part in England’s 2022 Euros success, being awarded with player of the tournament.
Mead netted six goals in that year’s Euros, winning the golden boot and ultimately finishing second in the Ballon d’Or.
She’d also come off the back of an exceptional season for Arsenal, netting 13 goals across all competitions.
Kelly could follow in Mead’s footsteps after a similarly impressive year and cement herself in the Arsenal history books by claiming the celebrated award.
