Chris Sutton says Arsenal have just ’embarrassed’ Bukayo Saka

Reports emerged last night that Arsenal have submitted a formal complaint to the PGMOL over the rough treatment Bukayo Saka is at the end of every game.

The 22-year-old is one of the best players in the country. He has been magnificent for Arsenal over the years, and his ability on the ball is scary for opposition defenders.

Saka is so good that he is capable of taking on most players in the Premier League. Since it’s not easy to stop him, defenders often decide to bring him down.

Some fouls are professional and accepted, while others are just over the top. The referees tend to let players get away with it a few times before they have no choice but to book them.

That’s precisely what Arsenal have brought up in their complaint to the PGMOL, but Chris Sutton thinks Saka will be ’embarrassed’ by what his club have now done.

He said on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast: “I think Bukayo Saka will be a bit embarrassed about the situation.

“It’s a compliment if anything if players want to get close to you and kick you, I don’t know what they are thinking of there and where they are going with that. Ridiculous.”

Arsenal are right

It may seem a bit silly on the outside to see Arsenal submitting an official complaint for rough challenges on one of their players.

However, Saka goes through a lot in games, and Arsenal fans fear the worst every time an opposing player clatters into the Englishman.

This happens multiple times every single week, and since Mikel Arteta can’t say anything on the touchline without getting booked these days, Arsenal were left with no choice but to bring this to the attention of the PGMOL.

We really hope this changes the way officials deal with some of the nasty challenges that Saka has to endure, but it’s unlikely to happen.
