Arsenal have found themselves in a spot of bother.
The Gunners boldly decided to stick with what they’ve got in the winter transfer window. Even Gabriel Jesus’ season-ending injury didn’t force their hand.
Now, that decision has seriously backfired.
Kai Havertz’s season is over too after the German attacker suffered a serious hamstring injury that will require surgery. He won’t be back until pre-season in the summer.
Chris Sutton has now had his say on the situation.
Chris Sutton says Arsenal fans think Kai Havertz is Pele
In many people’s eyes, Pele is the greatest footballer who has ever lived.
The legendary Brazilian won three World Cups back in the day and helped his country become the most dominant football side in the world.
Not many people can have their name said in the same sentence as Pele, but Sutton has sarcastically pushed Havertz’s moniker there.
The pundit has mocked Arsenal fans for having a meltdown following Havertz injury when they previously criticised him for his performances.
In his article on BBC Sport, Sutton wrote: “It seems Kai Havertz has turned into Pele in the eyes of Arsenal fans since he has been sidelined by a hamstring injury.
“All of a sudden Havertz is a world-beater, that they cannot cope without, when in reality he has been panned by them for his inconsistent finishing since he joined.
“But, with Gabriel Jesus already out injured for the season, Havertz’s absence will give Arsenal fans an excuse if they end up not winning anything this campaign, and there will be a pile-on to ask why they did not sign another striker.
“The fact Gunners boss Mikel Arteta tried to get Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa in January tells you that he wanted someone in. Now, if they don’t win the league, there will be this blame game. Is it Arteta’s fault, or is it on the board for not backing him?”

What Havertz’s injury means for Arsenal
Sutton, as usual, is blowing things out of proportion.
You can’t blame Arsenal fans for panicking after their only fit and available striker is ruled out for the remainder of the season.
It doesn’t matter if Havertz missed chances early on in the campaign – he is still Arsenal’s top scorer with 15 goals in all competitions.
Now, Arsenal will have to turn to one of Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling and Ethan Nwaneri to fill the German’s shoes in the coming months.
This period will show people like Sutton just how important a player Havertz is to Arsenal.
