Chris Sutton has taken a sly poke at Arsenal’s celebrations whilst predicting the Gunners to beat West Ham later today.

It has developed into one of the biggest non-stories in the Premier League, with Arsenal’s celebrations against Liverpool last weekend evolving into the most tiresome news events of the season.

And Sutton is the latest to take a dig at the Gunners for the crime of being happy after a massive Premier League win, with the former Premier League winner also predicting Arsenal to win at West Ham.

The pundit said via BBC Sport: “West Ham beat Arsenal at the Emirates at the end of December, when the Gunners huffed and puffed but just could not score.

“The Hammers will have exactly the same approach at home, looking to sit in and counter, and using their threat at set-pieces too. This time, though, I think Arsenal will find a way through – and carry on their celebrations.

“Mikel Arteta’s side will have a point to prove after what happened last time against West Ham, but their motivation here is more about the fact they have just put themselves in the thick of the title race, and they cannot afford to slip up. West Ham last did the double over the Gunners in the 2006-07 season, and I think they will have to wait a bit longer to do it again.

Criticism over Arsenal celebrations is getting stupid now

For many, football is a release from modern-day life and a chance to relish in something that doesn’t drag us down or make us think about our worries.

And at the end of the perfect match comes celebrations with fellow fans, players and loved ones, a feeling that can make someone a billionaire if they learn how to bottle it and sell it.

Yet, of course, when it comes to Arsenal, it just has to be a problem, with the north London side once again being targeted for celebrating a massive win against a Premier League title rival in stunning fashion.

The conversation has somehow lasted a full week heading into Arsenal’s huge clash against West Ham today, and the discourse is only getting more tiresome by the hour from pundits and on social media.
