Gabriel Martinelli is on a short list of Arsenal players who could be sold this summer.

The Brazilian played a crucial role in helping the Gunners to the Premier League title and Champions League final this season but Mikel Arteta is keen on adding depth and quality down the left.

Martinelli, along with Leandro Trossard, could both be moved on to make room for new additions.

Now, journalist Christian Falk has revealed the sort of price Arsenal are looking to get for their man.

Arsenal will demand north of £40m to sell Gabriel Martinelli

Some might feel it’s harsh to move Martinelli on but in reality, his solitary goal during the Premier League campaign is just not good enough.

However, discussing rumours of a potential move to Bayern Munich, journalist Falk has revealed the sort of fee Arsenal are looking at.

“From England rumours again about Gabriel Martinelli, 24 years old from Arsenal. 45 million,” Falk revealed.

“I would say it’s not likely. the rumour keeps coming up. Tuchel really wanted him. That’s why I think it’s still circulating . I don’t think it’ll be the big name.”

£45m is too cheap to sell Martinelli

On the surface, £45m might seem like a decent transfer fee and let’s be right, it’s not small change is it?

However, given the extortionate prices paid for players in the modern game, this feels a touch on the low side.

Given Barcelona are paying around the £70m mark to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, the £45m figure for Martinelli definitely feels on the low side.

In reality, the Gunners need to be pushing over the £50m mark and closer to £60m.

This is an area Arsenal need to be better at. Bringing in better cash for their players will only help in terms of reinvestment and while there’s always a balancing act, Martinelli has proven himself in England over the years.
