Contract talks
Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil contract talks have been placed on hold until the summer, Wenger citing the club will focus on the end of the season before restarting talks with the pair.
Ashley Cole
It’s always nice for a bit of Cole bashing. Having been asked if he was enjoying Arsenal’s current struggles, Cole replied “if I’m honest yeah, I still think to this day. I laugh to myself. I had a lot of history there and I think the way I left was maybe a bit dodgy but the lack of respect they showed me as well”.
This is why Cole will always be disliked by the Arsenal fans. Let the bashing continue.
Transfer rumours
According to reports Arsenal are interested in a shock move for Barcelona’s Arda Turan. Turan has struggled at Barca this season, although Arsenal see him as an ideal replacement for Mesut Ozil. The 30 year old would cost around £25m.
In the Sun we have the report that Arsenal are interested in Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac who is available on a free transfer in the summer. The Bosnian is considered one of the best young left backs in the Bundesliga and at 23 years old would be a good signing for the club with both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs struggling.
Podolski
Lukas Podolski scored the only goal of the game against England in his final appearance for the German National team. It was a fitting end to the ex-Arsenal man’s German career as he was made captain on his 130th and final appearance. It was a thunder bolt from Podolski which won the game as he hit a 25-yard trademark effort into the top left hand corner of the net. Podolski left the field with six minutes remaining to a standing ovation. I still miss Poldi.
Joel Campbell
Remember Joel Campbell? Well he has confirmed there is no buy option with current loan club Sporting Lisbon and will be returning to Arsenal in the summer. The 24-year-old had started his Sporting career well, scoring four times in his first 10 appearances, however he has not scored in his last 11 games and has mostly been used as a substitute.
Sanchez
The Arsenal bulletin would not be complete without an Alexis Sanchez rumour. This time the Daily Star has reported that the Chilean is a target for Inter Milan. Sanchez as we know has still not signed a new contract and is meant to be holding out for £300,000 a week. That may also price out Inter Milan.
