Cristhian Mosquera is adapting to life at Arsenal very well.

Nobody in England had really heard of the Spanish defender, but Andrea Berta knew all about him having watched him play for Valencia in La Liga.

After Mosquera entered the final year of his contract, the Arsenal sporting director pounced and struck a deal to sign him for just £13 million.

That fee is proving to be an absolute bargain.

What Mikel Arteta asks Cristhian Mosquera after every Arsenal game

Cristhian Mosquera showed a lot of bravery when he signed for Arsenal.

The Gunners have the best defensive partnership in world football in William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, and nobody’s displacing them any time soon.

That would’ve been viewed as a stumbling block for centre-backs who had the chance to sign for Arsenal, but the Spaniard didn’t care.

Mosquera was not scared of challenging Saliba and Gabriel, and his performances when he has had the chance have mostly been brilliant.

Speaking about his life at Arsenal, Mosquera revealed the one question Arteta ‘always’ asks him after games.

“The Premier League is very different, but I’m loving it. I’m handling that direct style of play well,” Mosquera told AS.

“Arteta always asks me after matches how tired I am, but I’m feeling very good.

“I grew up with La Liga style, but people always told me that my style of play was suitable for the Premier League. I think they were right.”

Cristhian Mosquera could become a superstar for Arsenal

Arsenal have signed many brilliant players in recent years, but Mosquera could be the pick of the bunch.

The Spaniard looked flawless when he replaced Saliba in the heart of the defence at Anfield, and he has since produced multiple exceptional performances.

The fact that he is still only 21 means he will only get better in the coming years, which is excellent news for Arsenal fans.

The excitement levels went through the roof when the Gunners signed players like Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze in the summer.

But Mosquera could be the one we’ll all be talking about in a few years, as he has the potential to become one of the best defenders in the world.
