The summer transfer window has slammed shut and Arsenal can now focus on attacking all four trophies as they attempt to end the club’s trophy drought.
It was a successful first window for sporting director Andrea Berta as he secured new contracts for Hale End duo Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Mikel Arteta will be licking his lips at the depth in his squad after a deadline day move for Piero Hincapie came after the eye-catching signings of Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze.
Player sales continued to be an issue for the Gunners and they will have to look to balance the books in upcoming windows. However, Danny Murphy thinks Arsenal have lost one ‘clever’ player this summer.

Danny Murphy thinks Arsenal have lost a ‘clever’ player in Oleksandr Zinchenko
Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy has been reacting to the news that Oleksandr Zinchenko has joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.
The Ukrainian has just a year left on his contract and is therefore likely to leave the Gunners as a free agent next summer but Murphy thinks Forest have got a ‘clever’ player.
Murphy stated: “I like him. Clever footballer. Can play in a few positions you know sitting in the midfield or obviously at left back.
“I I think he’s a I think that’s decent. Yeah, because they haven’t got that much cover in those areas, have they? Although they’ve just signed a Brazilian lad.”
Arsenal fans are pleased to sell Zinchenko especially given that it was former sporting director Edu Gaspar who advocated the move for his new side.
Zinchenko criticised Arteta during the summer for making him feel like ‘nothing’ last season as his opportunities to play in the first team dwindled.
Oleksandr Zinchenko should be remembered fondly at Arsenal
Although he leaves the club under a bit of a cloud following his explosive words about his frustrations at the club, Zinchenko should be remembered fondly by supporters for what he gave to the Gunners.
Arriving from Manchester City in 2022, the Ukrainian international immediately elevated Arteta’s side into genuine title contenders alongside fellow City teammate Gabriel Jesus.

Declan Rice is close friends with Zinchenko and the leadership he brought to the dressing room cannot be forgotten.
Although he never won a trophy with Arsenal, Zinchenko was a huge part of raising the standards at the club and why the Gunners are now vying for every major honour this season.
