Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is one of the best players in the Premier League.

The England international burst onto the scene as a teenager at the Emirates, and he has developed into a superstar over the years.

During that period, rival fans and pundits have compared Saka to a number of players.

Darren Bent could never understand it when people started having debates over who is better out of Saka and Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.

Darren Bent settles Bukayo Saka vs Marcus Rashford debate

Arsenal fans have always been annoyed when rival fans compared Bukayo Saka to their attackers.

It’s fair to compare Saka with players like Vinicius Jr and Lamine Yamal, but seeing him measured against attackers who are nowhere near his level has been infuriating.

One big debate a few years ago was between Saka and Rashford.

There were many heated arguments between fans on social media regarding the above subject, and there were some who truly believed that Rashford was better.

Bent has claimed that he could never understand that argument.

He said on talkSPORT: “I could never understand the argument, if I’m honest, when people tried to compare Rashford with Saka. People spoke about ‘Rashford is better than Saka’, and I was like, ‘are you crazy?’

“Rashford could do certain things. He hits the ball a certain way, as in he’s passing or he’s shooting, he’s quick, he runs, he’s direct, and people go, “wow,” right?

“Saka’s been doing what he’s doing for years now. Years! But he’s so effective. And the thing about Saka as well, you know exactly what you are getting from him, and as a manager, that’s what I want in my team.

“I don’t want someone that may potentially give me an eight (out of ten), but could give me a four. Saka is minimum giving you a seven. That’s a minimum!”

Bukayo Saka’s consistency makes him better than Marcus Rashford

One of Saka’s biggest strengths is his consistency.

The Arsenal star has reached double figures for goals and assists in each of the last three seasons in all competitions. He achieved this in 2024/25 despite missing three months due to injury.

Rashford, who is three years older than Saka, has had a lot of ups and downs in his Manchester United career.

He showed a lot of promise and had a few incredible seasons, but he always struggled to consistently deliver for three or more campaigns in a row.

That is what separates Saka from Rashford – the Arsenal number seven is the better player.
