David Ornstein claimed on The Athletic that Arsenal stars David Luiz and Dani Ceballos had a huge bust-up in a training session on Friday.
The frustration among the players was high after Arsenal’s terrible result against Aston Villa before the break. Dean Smith’s men outclassed the Gunners and deservedly picked up a 3-0 win.
A few players left the country immediately to report to their national teams, but many others stayed back. Luiz and Ceballos reportedly had an altercation in training on Friday, and the Brazilian – Ornstein claims – took a swing at the Real Madrid man.
The report reveals that Luiz left a scratch on Ceballos’ face which left the Spaniard bleeding. Arsenal staff and the other players on the pitch broke things up and the pair were sent home.
The squad reported back to training on Tuesday after a three-day break over the weekend. Mikel Arteta brought both players together and settled the issue once and for all.
Ceballos now has responded to Ornstein’s exclusive about the situation. The Spaniard has claimed that the whole story is fake, which has left many Arsenal fans confused over the truth.
A bust-up between players on the training ground is normal. Football is a contact sport and sometimes things get heated up. A physical altercation between teammates is never ideal, but it’s not the end of the world.
The report claims that both Luiz and Ceballos made up on Tuesday, and that should end it all.
Let’s just hope that the pair are as fired up against Leeds United on Sunday as they reportedly were in training last week.
