Arsenal stretched their winning run to four games in all competitions with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
It was an important victory for Arsenal as they chase down league leaders Liverpool and they did so without some key players- Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel were both ruled out with injuries.

Following a slow, tight first half, Arsenal’s set-piece coach Nicolas Jover’s input was able to break the United resistance with the first goal coming from the delivery of Declan Rice.

Declan Rice knows the importance of set-pieces for Arsenal
Speaking in a post-match interview with Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of Arsenal v Man United, Rice explained the importance that Arsenal put on their set-piece routines.
Rice stated, “We believe in our process, we keep at it, we never get bored, when you go up for a corner it’s a chance to score a goal.”
Rice was given 8/10 in the Arsenal player ratings v Man United and was then asked in the interview about whether he does any extra practice on his set-piece deliveries.
Rice answered with, “It’s more just seeing clips, I know what I need to do and the weight, it depends on the opposition too.”
Arsenal continue to lead the statistics in set-piece goals
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been compared to Tony Pulis following the success of scoring from corners and free kicks.
Arsenal lead the way in the Premier League this season for the highest amount of goals from set-piece routines.
| Team | Set-Piece goals |
| Arsenal | 7 |
| Everton | 6 |
| Aston Villa | 6 |
| Manchester United | 5 |
| Chelsea | 5 |
| Nottingham Forest | 5 |
Arsenal have been deadly from both flanks with not only Declan Rice targeting the front post area from the right-hand side but also Bukayo Saka having great success from the left-hand side and particularly finding Brazilian defender Gabriel.
Going back even further, Arsenal have now scored 22 goals from the start of last season, which was highlighted by BBC’s Match of the Day.
It is something that has not been synonymous with the Gunners until recent years but is proving to be another weapon in their armoury in breaking teams down and picking up vital points in their title hunt.
