Arsenal will almost definitely be one of the teams challenging for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have gone toe-to-toe with Manchester City in each of the last two campaigns, and they are now closer than ever to pipping Pep Guardiola’s side to the title.

Arsenal have strengthened their squad this summer with the signings of Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino on permanent deals. Raheem Sterling has also arrived on loan, as has Neto.

Declan Rice, who has been an Arsenal player for over a year now, seems excited about one particular signing.

Arsenal announced the signing of Sterling late on transfer deadline day.

The England international has joined the Gunners on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea, and his quality and experience could prove to be big for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal took their time to announce Sterling’s shirt number for this season. That led to speculation over whether he would take one of the club’s two iconic numbers – 10 or 14.

However, on Tuesday, Arsenal announced that Sterling will wear the number 30, and the attacker took to Instagram to share a few snaps of himself in his new shirt.

Many fans are excited to see what Sterling has in store for them this season, and it looks like Rice can’t wait either.

The midfielder, who has played with Sterling on numerous occasions for England over the years, sent a warning to the rest of the Premier League.

Commenting under Sterling’s Instagram post, he wrote: “They ain’t ready”, suggesting that rival Premier League clubs are not prepared for what the new Arsenal man is about to do.

Sterling has made a promise after joining Arsenal

Sterling has been playing at the top level for over a decade.

The Englishman made his senior debut for Liverpool when he was just 17, and he has achieved incredible things in the Premier League since then.

Some within the English top flight are concerned about Sterling’s ‘physical age’, which they feel is much higher than his actual age of 29.

There are others who feel he is finished at the top level as well, even though he directly contributed to 18 goals for a terrible Chelsea side in the 2023/24 season.

Sterling has listened to all of the criticism, and he is now ready to do all the talking.

In his announcement video, the first words out of Sterling’s mouth were: “People like to talk, don’t they? Well, so do I! And I’ll say this, you’re about to see the best of me!”
