Declan Rice has been raving about his England teammate and reported Arsenal transfer target, Elliot Anderson.
Arsenal have been looking to sign a midfielder recently, and the Nottingham Forest star could become a key target for the Gunners.
Anderson has become a regular for England over the last year and is now wanted by several major Premier League clubs.
👀 AGREE or DISAGREE: Elliot Anderson would be the best midfield signing Arsenal could make…
Forest are in danger of being relegated, which means they would almost certainly lose the 22-year-old, who is on Andrea Berta’s radar.
Now, Rice has been speaking about the England international, and his comments suggest he would be such a great fit for Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
Declan Rice compares Elliott Anderson to himself
Declan Rice believes that he and Elliott Anderson are very similar players, both able to fill multiple different midfield roles.
Rice and Anderson have already forged a strong relationship with one another at England, becoming Thomas Tuchel’s preferred midfield pivot.
The pair look almost certain to start alongside one another at the 2026 World Cup in the summer, playing 343 minutes together for England.
When asked about the midfielder, Rice told iNews “We’re like a hybrid of each other, really. We both play six, we both play eight, both love to attack the box, defend the box. He’s a player I really admire.”

Tuchel will be delighted to see how well both players have done this season, becoming two of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
As Rice suggests, the pair complements each other well, bringing so much to the team and can fill multiple roles.
Berta should be fighting tooth and nail to get ahead of teams like Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to sign him this summer.
Declan Rice hails Arsenal partner Martin Zubimendi
Right now, Rice’s current midfield partner at Arsenal is Martin Zubimendi, and the pair have been key to the Gunners’ success.
“He moves the ball so well through the lines, keeps it calm, simple, a real calm presence who’s won a lot in his career already,” he added.
The North London club desperately need to add to their midfield options in the summer, given that both Rice and Zubimendi have been seriously overworked.
The pair have looked off the pace over recent weeks; therefore, signing a player who can provide cover will be key.
