Right after Arsenal’s parade celebrations came to an end, news broke that William Saliba had suffered an injury.

The Frenchman had his issues in the recently concluded season, but he played regularly in the final games of the campaign.

The Arsenal defender even played the whole game in the final of the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, and he looked really good.

However, some reports have claimed that Saliba is a doubt for the World Cup because of a back injury, but there is some good news now.

France manager Didier Deschamps issues William Saliba injury update

William Saliba is just as important for France as he is to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old wasn’t the first choice for Didier Deschamps in the last World Cup, but he has since been a mainstay in Les Bleus’ defence.

With France hoping to go all the way in the upcoming competition, Saliba will be key, which is why many fans were worried when reports claimed he was injured.

However, Deschamps has now eased all those fears.

The France boss has confirmed that Saliba is fit, so much so that he could start a game tomorrow if he needed him to.

“William is fine and will be managed. If he had needed to play tomorrow, he would have played,” Deschamps said, as per The Miami Herald.

That is excellent news, not just for France ahead of the World Cup but for Arsenal as well, because they need him for next season.

William Saliba has not shown his best level with France yet

Since Saliba made his Arsenal debut in 2022, the Frenchman has gone from strength to strength and has become one of the best defenders in the world.

Every club on the planet would love to sign him if they get a chance.

However, on the international stage, Saliba hasn’t yet found the consistency level that he has managed in the famous red and white.

The Arsenal number two will be hoping to change that in America this summer as France hope to lift the World Cup again.

If he is fit, we are convinced that he will reach his best level.
