Chelsea icon Didier Drogba has now made a wild claim about Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Thierry Henry is Arsenal’s greatest ever player, and at his best he was once arguably the best player in the world.
The French striker remains the North London club’s record goalscorer, and won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups with the Gunners. He was a key figure in the 2003/04 squad, remembered as The Invincibles, as they won the Premier League title without losing a single game in the competition.
Henry has been immortalised in statue form outside the Emirates Stadium.
On the international stage, the striker was equally successful, winning the World Cup in 1998 and the Euros in 2000.
After joining Barcelona, he finally got his hands on a Champions League crown in 2009, amongst numerous other honours. He was also able to win silverware in his native France and the USA.
Henry is a bona fide Arsenal legend and modern great of the game. However, despite his enormous success, he was never awarded a Ballon d’Or. The closest he came was in 2003, when he came second in the voting, losing out on the gong to Pavel Nedved.

Didier Drogba makes Thierry Henry claim
Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is still astonished that Henry never won a single Ballon d’Or, whilst he believes that the 47-year-old was deserving of multiple.
In an interview with B/R Football, the Ivorian was asked to name a player who never won a Ballon d’Or but should have.
Drogba replied: “Thierry Henry. He deserved it like ten times, because I think he was fantastic in the Premier League, but also for the national team and in the Champions League he was exceptional.
“Scoring goals, winning games on his own and for his team. I mean, we’re talking about Thierry Henry, I don’t know if there’s anything more to say.”
What is Arsenal legend Thierry Henry doing now?
Henry remains supportive of Arsenal, and keeps a close eye on Mikel Arteta’s side in his role as a pundit.
Since hanging up his boots in 2014, he has worked as a manager and in the media. On the coaching side of things he has worked within the Arsenal youth setup, as an assistant with the Belgium national team, and has been the man in charge of Monaco and Montreal Impact.
Most recently, Henry led the France Olympic team to a silver medal at the 2024 Games.
