Arsenal star Eberechi Eze has been praising his teammate Viktor Gyokeres after his two goals against Tottenham.
Gyokeres was at his best in the North London Derby, earning high praise for the two goals he scored.
It wasn’t only the striker’s brace that generated attention, however, as his overall game was terrific from start to finish.
It’s what Eze focused on after Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Tottenham, calling his teammate an inspiration because of the hard work he constantly puts in for the benefit of the Gunners.

Eberechi Eze says Viktor Gyokeres is an inspiration to Arsenal after his performance against Tottenham
Eze was also the hero, joining Gyokeres by scoring two goals; however, the playmaker was eager to shine some light on his striker’s contribution post-match.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Eze didn’t hold back when sharing an insight into what Gyokeres’ work rate does for the Arsenal squad.
“He’s got so much energy. We spoke about it before; it’s infectious when you have a player like that and he’s working so hard,” Eze said.
“It makes you want to continue to work as hard as you can to see what he’s given. He’s an inspiration for all of us working towards what we want to achieve.”
Eze’s feedback was exactly what fans wanted to hear about Gyokeres, who has struggled in some games for Arsenal this season, but right now, he’s in top form.
Viktor Gyokeres must keep his impressive goal-scoring form going
Gyokeres made himself impossible to defend against when he played Spurs, covering so much ground to be a real nuisance for Tottenham’s defenders.
His two goals were merely the icing on the cake of a top day for the Swede, who now needs to build on his performance.
Viktor Gyokeres has eight goals in 2026, how many more will he score before the end of the season?
Next up for Arsenal comes Chelsea, whom Gyokeres has already got the better of this season, scoring and assisting against the Blues in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
His display against Spurs was one statement, but it would be a real show of intent for him to replicate it when Chelsea visit N5.
Every game is a cup final now for Arsenal, making Gyokeres’ form non-negotiable until the end of the season.
