Eberechi Eze has his eyes on a new position at Arsenal in a late-career change

Eberechi Eze is one of Arsenal’s most versatile players.

The England international, who was once a part of the Gunners’ academy, returned to the club in the summer and has played in a few different positions.

Eze has been deployed as a left-winger, a left-sided number eight, and also on the right so far at Arsenal, and he has produced good moments in all of those roles.

Looking ahead, the former Crystal Palace man has his eyes on another position.

Eberechi Eze can do a phenomenal job in almost every attacking position.

The 27-year-old has played on both wings, as a number 10 and also in a box-to-box role in the past, and he has impressed in all of those positions.

Eze’s brilliant dribbling skills and ability to pick out a pass from midfield make him an ideal attack-minded midfielder, but the Englishman sees himself in an even deeper role one day.

The Arsenal number 10 has boldly claimed that he could end up as a defensive midfielder later on in his career, which would be a drastic change.

Eze said, as per The Sun: “CDM. I probably could play that, maybe late in my career.”

Arsenal take on Tottenham in the North London Derby, and Eze will be hoping to get himself another hat-trick against Spurs.

It remains to be seen if he will start, but we are certain that Mikel Arteta will not use him in a defensive midfield role.

Eberechi Eze could become Arsenal’s new Jorginho one day

Eze definitely has some of the qualities that you need in a defensive midfielder.

The Arsenal star is excellent under pressure and has the ability to get out of tight spaces effortlessly, even when he is being pressed by multiple players.

Eze also possesses the ability to assist from deep – his passes to Gabriel Martinelli against Manchester City and Wigan Athletic are proof of that.

Former Arsenal star Jorginho was very similar in that regard, and Eze could well end up emulating him later on in his career.

However, the England star will have to massively improve his defensive awareness to have any chance of succeeding as a number six.
