Eberechi Eze was asked to assemble his perfect player using stars past and present in world football.
When it comes to the best, Arsenal’s summer signing is right up there, having made his name in the Premier League at Crystal Palace.
After watching the 27-year-old in action against Newcastle, Chris Sutton thinks Eze is the Premier League’s best at bringing something different to games in the final third.
While Eze has been getting a lot of praise recently, and rightly so, the attacking midfielder has been shining a light on some of his Arsenal teammates.

Eberechi Eze picks Noni Madueke as the most skilful player
Eze was one of eight players Arsenal signed in the 2025 summer transfer window, representing one of only three attacking players who were acquired.
Alongside the playmaker, Mikel Arteta bolstered his squad with Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, with the latter collecting big praise from his teammate.
In an interview with Stadium Astro, Eze was asked to put together his perfect player, based on the traits of other stars in football, past and present.
When asked who he’d select in the ‘skills’ department, Eze didn’t hesitate to nominate Madueke.
“Noni,” Eze said, which prompted the presenter to question why he didn’t nominate himself in the category.
“I thought you might say yourself then,” the presenter said, going on to say that William Saliba thinks Eze is the most technical in the Arsenal squad.
“I saw Saliba in this room giving an interview, and he had to describe players in one word, and you were technique.”
After snubbing himself for the skills category, Eze appreciated what Saliba had said, “Good, I like that, I’ll take that.”
In Eze’s eyes, there was only one option for the most skilful player, with Madueke rated very highly by his club and international teammate.
Mikel Arteta has already noticed Madueke’s skill
If there’s one figure who is a firm believer that Madueke can become one of the world’s best, it’s the Arsenal manager.
Speaking to the media after Arsenal’s win over Nottingham Forest, Arteta hailed Madueke, where he mentioned how skilful the winger is.
“I think he has such a power, such a capacity to repeat efforts because to be able to do that physically, you have to have a different specimen, he’s certainly that,” Arteta said.
“But he’s very skilful, very unpredictable, he’s so willing to learn, and he brings joy. I look at him and he’s always smiling, he’s always trying things.”
Madueke is an incredibly hard-working player behind the scenes, with fans only seeing a glimpse of what the Englishman does for Arsenal.
Arteta will be counting down the days until Madueke is fit and ready to compete again, with his injury coming at such a frustrating time.
