Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has confused a few Arsenal supporters with a cryptic post on Instagram.
The 21-year-old barely played in the second half of last season. He will enter the final year of his contract tomorrow, and there is a good chance that he will be sold by Arsenal before the transfer window shuts.
However, there’s also the possibility of Nketiah signing a new deal. The Athletic claimed a couple of weeks ago that Arsenal had indeed offered the young Englishman a new contract – just to protect his value.
It was claimed that the Gunners wanted to send him out on loan this summer to a club where he will play regularly. It is believed that Nketiah, labelled as ‘extraordinary‘ by Mikel Arteta, could have a similar impact to what Joe Willock did at Newcastle last season, and that would certainly increase his value.

It seemed unlikely that Nketiah would extend his contract considering that he had no future at the club. However, his latest social media activity has confused a few Arsenal fans about his future.
Nketiah posted a picture of himself with two hourglass emojis. It’s clear that he’s implying that an announcement is imminent, but nobody knows if it’s about a new contract or a new club.
Arsenal fans, predictably, are confused. Selling him this summer is our only option if he refuses to sign a new contract, but his post has led some supporters to believe that a new deal could well be on the cards.
