Eddie Nketiah has named Harry Kane as the best striker in the world after Arsenal drew Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners will take on their old European foe next month in the quarter-finals after Arsenal beat FC Porto on penalties to progress from the round of 16 for the first time in 14 years.

However, their upcoming opponent Bayern have a strong and ruthless history against Arsenal, the north London side’s most recent elimination from the Champions League coming from the hands of the German giants 10-2 on aggregate.

And speaking to Sky Sports, Arsenal striker Nketiah has named Kane as the best centre-forward on the planet, with the England international saying about the Bayern star: “I think all-round, he’s probably the best at the moment, honestly.”

With an incredible 37 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, there’s good reason why Nketiah has named a former Tottenham rival as the best striker in the world at this moment.

And given Kane’s brilliant goalscoring record against Arsenal during his time with Spurs, there’s a strong chance that the Gunners could again feel the England captain’s wrath in the Champions League.

Indeed, Kane scoring seems to feel like an inevitability rather than a potential one-off chance for some fans, and Arsenal will need to be at their best if they’re to stop the 30-year-old attacker from causing severe damage.

Arsenal fans have been here before when it comes to facing Bayern, with past trauma now resurfacing after Friday’s Champions League draw paired the two teams together one again.

Whilst the north London side are quite literally a different team since the last time they faced Bayern, scars from the past will still be there, with Mikel Arteta seeing his fair share of losses against the German side with Arsenal.
