Arsenal have always had a reputation for their quick, incisive football going forward.
Arsene Wenger moulded several teams that could go from one box to another in the blink of an eye with players like Thierry Henry and Theo Walcott in full flight.
Mikel Arteta’s side are facing criticism for their current style of play with many fans and pundits believing the team have become too methodical.
With the addition of Noni Madueke, Arsenal will be hoping he can inject some pace moving forward but former Chelsea star Eden Hazard thinks the fastest player he has ever seen was actually released by the Gunners.

Eden Hazard names Willian as the fastest player he has played with
Speaking to the official Europa League TikTok account, Hazard was asked to build his dream Chelsea player.
Hazard unsurprisingly went with the likes of John Terry for leadership and Didier Drogba for his strength. Former Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas was mentioned for his passing and footballing IQ.
However, in a surprising twist, Hazard named former Arsenal winger Willian as the fastest player he has played with.
It isn’t the first time that the Belgian has been complimentary about the Gunners in recent times, Hazard picked Martin Odegaard over Erling Haaland as Norway’s best player.
Arsenal missed out on signing Hazard from Lille before he eventually moved to Stamford Bridge and became one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen.
Willian had a torrid spell at Arsenal
Willian was one of Arteta’s worst signings at Arsenal having arrived from Chelsea on a free transfer back in 2020.
The Brazilian struggled to cope with Arteta’s intensity and looked a shadow of the excellent player he was in West London.
| Willian’s record at Arsenal | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Willian | 37 | 1 | 7 |
Hazard may have seen Willian’s pace at Chelsea, however, he looked sluggish during his spell at the Emirates Stadium before being replaced in the side by a young Bukayo Saka.
It sparked the dawn of a new era at the Gunners with the likes of Saka and Emile Smith Rowe coming through. Chelsea duo Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga will be hoping to fare better following their summer moves.
